City of Felixis

The city of Felixis is a young city, though swiftly grown large due to the depredations of the Dwarf's attacks on their neighbors.

 

Felixis began as a refuge-- a cool stream flows through the center of town.  Closest to the stream and along the axis of the town are clusters of shallow burrows.  The gnome refugees settled here, quickly throwing up a stone and earthen wall that has been pierced and expanded several times.  About 30 years ago more humans began drifting into town and settling around the gnomish core city.  Roads extend out to farms all over the peninsula; shepherds take their flocks along the south coast and graze them on the lush grasses.

 

The city recently hired a delegation of Silverene craftsmen; for the last year they've been gathering and quarrying the rocks of the peninsula and building a great wall around the town.  Progress is erratic; in some places the wall is more than half complete (already over 5 feet), while in others it's a series of lines on some plans, a trenched footing, or the first courses of wall.

 

Population: About 4000, including the nearby farms and transient population, it's closer to 6000.

Demographics: Gnomes: 50%, Humans 30%, Eves 10%, remainder 10% (merpeople, elemental elves, draconians)

Industry: Fishing, forestry, wool production, cloth weaving

 

In the surrounding area

South of the city are small rocky farms and orchards, including a couple of villages.  Where the ground doesn't support crops, shepherds graze sheep and goats.

East of the city is a collection of seaside villages curving around Branwen bay and Aliaxli Bay.  Draconians have a small city on the western river branch, known as Thades.  Trade is light with them.

North is light forest.  A day's travel away are a pair of gnomish refugee villages.  [Note: One is rumored destroyed.]
